“Kushboo caught in the crossfire of DMK succession war”!!!!
Actor Kushboo became the victim of vandalism when her house came under attack by about 20 men who hurled stones at the windows on Thursday afternoon (February 7th). Police reports suggest that the vandals were DMK cadres. Apparently the spunky actor's comments on the DMK party succession issue had angered a section of the party. She had said that the DMK was a democratic party and the successor to Karunanidhi would be elected to the top position.
Karunanidhi's sons Alagiri and Stalin are bitter rivals for the top spot in the party hierarchy. It is well known that the party is divided on this issue. Recently, the topic was in the news when Karunanidhi suggested that Stalin take over the mantle of leadership from him. Alagiri retorted that the DMK was not a religious mutt for the succession to be decided in this manner.
Kushboo herself was in Trichy attending the wedding of DMK Rajya Sabha member, NP Siva's daughter. The actor was attacked with slippers when she was en route to the airport to return to Chennai. Kushboo said that her comments had been misinterpreted and she would take up the issue with party leaders. The DMK party has denied that they had anything to do with the attack on Kushboo.
